Photo exchange

So much Fun! Wonderful Ida (https://wonderfulida.ca/) suggested that we could do a photo exchange taking images of each other and getting to see each other in person. I said Oh ya, Let’s do it! I decided to take my long lens 70-200mm and my 50mm. I thought it would be a perfect chance to just play. We decided on meeting at Trout Lake.

We met at Trout Lake, a frosty morning. Ida waiting for a little late Wendy to show up

The day was hazy sun and freak’n cold.. frost on the ground cold, but the lighting was interesting and it gave us a chance to play. We walked a bit catching up and chatting about business. Then decided it was time to take photos. Ida was using her 85mm 1.8 and I love the look. I have one as well but its old and it won’t auto focus with the adapter for my Nikon Z6. After seeing the images she created, I really need to take my lens out again and just use it on Manual focus (can you imagine!)

Photo walks are such a great way to exercise your creativity. During the last 2 years I have been doing a fair amount of them while my work slowed down and they have been my grounding. No matter where you are in your photo journey, getting out to just create is fantastic. Practice, practice, practice. The more you photograph, the more you see, the better your images will become.

The best part of this whole morning, besides taking photos, was having a chance to check in with each other, talk business and generally give each other a boost.. well Ida certainly gave me a boost. Anyone else want to hang out and chat just let me know!

Thanks again Wonderful Ida for the Wonderful morning!
