Welcome to my personal project ‘day in the life…’
Have you ever been stuck in traffic and looking around you thought; Where is everybody going? What are they doing? I wonder what she does for a living. I wonder how much that guy mountain bikes. Ok well maybe you haven’t. I do all the time. People fascinate me. When I am doing a photo session I usually get to hear about peoples passions, about where they work, what they do and its great! So I thought why don’t I go and photograph these aspects of peoples lives, just one day, or even a few hours. I am like a personal paparazzi. Its been fun so far and I expect it will be a great adventure!
I wanted to give a nod to where ‘day in the life.. ‘ inspiration came from; David Elliot Cohen & Rick Smolan (1984). A Day in the Life of Canada. I was just out of high school (telling my age now) when this book came out. I was totally capture by photography by then and this book just sent me over the moon. So when I thought of this project I wanted to give homage to the creators of that project. They did many more and I see they are still going. Very cool!
